24A favorite updates

Hi Everyone today I will share with you my top 3 favorite updates for 24A related to fusion sales. This list is comprised of updates I see beneficial to customers based on my past experience working with users, business and other implementers. I specifically focused on items I have been asked about or brought up in past implementations.

  1. Confirmation message after smart is executed

The following update is one of those small updates that make a big difference. In the past I have seen users continuously click on a smart actions because they feel like nothing is happening. When users get a notification it signifies that an action has been done and system is acknowledged that action for the user. Simple but goes a long way especially when the action involves calling an API

To configure the user will need to go into application composer, then go into smart actions. A user would select the smart actions and then scroll towards the bottom and select the pencil icon to edit the confirmation edit section. Please see image below for reference.

  1. Enable Customers to Create and View CPQ Quotes from a Redwood Sales Account

The next update I found to beneficial involves being able to create a quote from an account without it being connected to an opportunity. So why is this important? There are scenarios where a customer calls just to get a quote on a product or service where there are no ties to an opportunity. Being able to capture this information would be beneficial. In addition through this feature users can view quote data in the account foldout panel.

From an implementation perspective there will need to be an active CPQ instance installed and to view the foldout. The implementer will need to customize and manage the foldout panel.

  1. Hide Duplicate Accounts from List and Picker

Oracle has began to put a larger emphasis on account management, and I have specifically been seeing updates around managing account hierarchies, and account duplicates falls into that category. I see this as a win from both a user and implementation perspective. As duplicate accounts are sometimes needed, now with one of the most recent updates we can keep duplicates accounts as they may have valuable history but we may not want all users to see them and I think this will help avoid confusion from that perspective.

From an implementation perspective there are no additional implementation steps needed.

Thank you for reading through my top 3 updates. Please let me know if you would like me to review any other updates. Overall I felt like these updates offered a lot of value in their own way and I could see them all used in an implementation as all three are likely use cases. What do you think?
